Fighting Plastic Pollution – 2019 Charitable Programme

In 2015, our Practice raised over £10,000 for charities that worked to tackle homelessness in the capital. In 2017 we took action on the refugee crisis and for our third Charitable Programme we are delighted to announce that we are focussing on Fighting Plastic Pollution.

Throughout this year we will be organising a series of events and initiatives in support of two fantastic charities – Thames21 and Plastic Oceans – both of which are working to fight the plastic problem in very different ways.

THAMES21
Thames21 is the voice for London’s waterways, working with communities to improve rivers and canals for people and wildlife. They mobilise thousands of volunteers every year to clean and green the capital’s 400 mile network of waterways.

They also aim to transform neglected waterways into areas that everyone can use and enjoy, by using innovative and tailored community approaches.

PLASTIC OCEANS
Plastic Oceans support scientific research including a systematic review of the available data.

They are developing education programmes that can be rolled out into schools in the UK and further afield. Building links with industry, particularly those with close ties to the oceans, they encourage the exchange of best practice, cost and waste reduction methods and other activities aimed at reducing our plastic footprint and preventing it getting into the oceans.

Our programme of events will evolve throughout the year and currently includes:

JANUARY
Guess How Many Bottle Tops in the Bowl

FEBRUARY
Film Screening

MARCH
Vitality Big Half Marathon

APRIL
Recycling Plant Field Trip

MAY
Dulux London Revolution Cycle
River Clean Up

JUNE

JULY

SEPTEMBER

OCTOBER

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients, consultants and staff for their continued support of our charitable efforts and we hope you will join us in supporting this year’s programme.
