The NLA Awards 2020 has shortlisted Queen’s Yard for three categories: Mixed-Use, Housing and Placemaking.

This unique site is situated in a rapidly changing part of east London and forms an established creative hub of artist studios, workshops, bars and cafes. Queen’s Yard has the largest public space in the Hackney Wick Masterplan will link to new routes connecting the Olympic Park with Hackney Wick and new developments at Fish Island. It is one of the key sites within the masterplan on a major pedestrian and cycle route between Victoria Park and the Olympic Park.

Queen’s Yard is a residential-led mixed-use development in Hackney Wick, comprising 143 high-quality new homes, 4,500 m² flexible mixed-use workspace, including a new theatre and studio space.

The heritage-led design of the buildings and public realm carefully maintains the existing character of this unique area while increasing the overall commercial space and number of homes.

The format of the awards has slightly changed this year and instead of announcing the winners at the awards ceremony, the announcements are happening throughout the month online. Check out the project and the full shortlist for more info.
