Monica joined the Practice in 1997 and became a Partner in 2005. She leads a team managing urban design and masterplanning projects within Studio One and has a particular focus on marketing and branding within the Practice.
She has an extensive experience of overseeing large scale projects involving the design, improvement and revitalisation of the public realm at both a strategic and detailed level, with public consultation forming an integral part of the design process. She also manages the delivery of urban and civic regeneration specialising in cultural identification and development.
Monica has led complex regeneration projects across several London Boroughs, working closely with determining authorities and agencies. For example, at New River Village in Hornsey she oversaw the transformation of a water treatment works into an award winning example of urban regeneration with 622 new homes, a residents’ gym, restaurant, gallery and day nursery. Similarly, at Neptune Wharf on Fish Island, she completed a strategic framework, masterplan and design code for the major Olympic fringe regeneration site.
