Monica Coffey BA (Hons) DipArch RIBA

Monica has been a partner since 2005 having joined the Practice in 1997. She has an impressive and extensive portfolio of major mixed-use regeneration projects with particular expertise in innovative housing led development. Within the practice, Monica leads on pre-planning work, including urban design and masterplanning, and is known for developing creative yet deliverable developments and strategies, both for smaller scale infill sites as well as major regeneration opportunities.

She is expert at facilitating development by taking a strategic enabling role and is particularly adept at steering projects through the complex planning process, carefully developing effective and constructive working relationships with determining authorities, unifying diverse specialist consultant teams, and coordinating and liaising with strategic and local organisations.

With over 25 years experience, Monica has been responsible for securing a large number of exceptional planning approvals, including on highly challenged sites, and bringing forward numerous award winning regeneration schemes.  These range from securing a high density approval on a constrained site with accessibility issues in Newham, to developing a highly commended new residential quarter in Welwyn. All her schemes prioritise the creation of quality streetscapes and legible townscape.

Within the Practice, Monica takes the lead role on innovative design and concept development as part of the company’s design review process. Amongst her other Practice Management roles she has strategic responsibility for human resources as well as marketing and communications.
