Queen’s Yard

Residential Heritage-led homes within a canal side creative hub

Queen’s Yard is a unique site situated in a rapidly changing part of east London and forms an established creative hub of artist studios, workshops, bars and cafes. Queen’s Yard has the largest public space in the Hackney Wick Masterplan will link to new routes connecting the Olympic Park with Hackney Wick and new developments at Fish Island. It is one of the key sites within the masterplan on a major pedestrian and cycle route between Victoria Park and the Olympic Park.

A truly mixed-use project, the scheme comprises 143 new homes arranged around a public working yard space. All homes are of Build-to-Rent tenure, with 20% affordable. A mix of dwelling types will be provided, with 85% dual / triple aspect. Employment space includes workshop and small-scale flexible workspace and also includes the provision of a new site for the existing Yard Theatre that will be relocated within the proposal.

The heritage-led design of the buildings and public realm carefully maintains the existing character of this unique area while increasing the overall commercial space and number of homes.
