With an interest in ensuring urban environments function at a human scale, Monica puts the creation of quality streetscapes and legible townscapes at the forefront of her work. As her portfolio of projects demonstrates, Monica has particular expertise in innovative housing-led development across a variety of scales, from smaller infill plots to substantial regeneration sites. She has been responsible for securing a significant number of exceptional planning approvals - including those on highly challenging sites - which have led to numerous award-winning regeneration schemes.
Monica became a Partner in 2005, having first joined the practice in 1997. Throughout this time, she has proven herself to be an expert at facilitating development. She is particularly adept at steering projects through the complex planning process by taking a strategic enabling role —developing effective and constructive working relationships with determining authorities, unifying specialist consultant teams, and liaising with strategic and local organisations.
Within the Practice, Monica oversees the Practice’s human resources, marketing and communications as well as taking a lead role in Stockwool's design review process.
As well as sitting on the Islington Design Review panel, Monica regularly engages with industry events and roundtable discussions shaping design direction in urban environments.
Whether for work or leisure, you’ll likely find Monica exploring all corners of her beloved London. A regular at industry workshops and events across the city, she is always keen to re-energise with a city-based cultural fix.
