The new Well Street Surgery in Hackney is located on the site of a Victorian textile factory in Shore Road, close to the Practice’s former home in Well Street. The development replaced and enlarged the former surgery, providing one of the largest medical practices in the Borough.
The refurbished steel framed textile factory is located to the rear of the site and houses the principal clinical accommodation whilst waiting areas, circulation spaces and a bright and welcoming reception are all housed in a new building on the street side of the scheme.
The extensive facilities include consulting rooms for 15 GPs and a minor surgery clinic along with three waiting areas. In addition an office for the district primary care service, a community kitchen, a multi-purpose community room, seminar rooms, a library/ resource room and a staff lounge and kitchen are all housed within the four storey building.
