This masterplan for Southend, developed in collaboration with Urban Practitioners, is designed to structure and coordinate the diversification of the town centre over a 15 year development programme and encourage the development of a vibrant ‘city-by-the-sea’.
The plan features clustering and a mix of uses, together with a public realm strategy to reconnect the town centre to the seafront, and includes targets of 2,600 new homes, 57,000m² retail space, 37,000m² office space and 3,500m² leisure space.
