Stockwool

Construction + Delivery

CONSTRUCTION AND DELIVERY

It takes experience and organisation to deliver buildings and Stockwool provides the leadership needed to meet the challenges of modern construction. We have over 30 years’ experience of working with contractors and developers. We have developed an in depth knowledge when it comes to preparing complex construction packages, detailing precise components, the specification of products and structuring decision making.

As Lead Consultant we coordinate the work of consultants and subcontractors within a project’s design team, always taking a high level of care in our approach to both design development and specification of components to ensure that design integrity, contractual and ethical responsibilities are maintained.

Design and construction risk is a key factor for many of our clients, who often choose to bring detailed design and construction together to achieve a quicker, more integrated, and more straightforward process. In short, we have the know-how to deliver a quality product on time and on budget.

Delivering our own planning approvals has always been part of our offer. The integration of BIM in all of our projects, from inception to delivery, ensures an efficient and cost-effective approach for our clients and contractors. Our enthusiasm and expertise in MMC and off-site construction, together with our ability to constantly embrace new techniques and innovations, ensures repeat delivery projects are an ongoing part of the Practice’s portfolio.

STOCKWOOL AS EXECUTIVE ARCHITECTS

Over many years of delivering our own planning approvals, we have, in addition, acted as Executive Architect on significant and high-profile projects across the residential, commercial and education sectors. We have proudly delivered other Practices’ planning approvals, often working closely with the planning architects to achieve the final built vision.

Our established reputation for delivery as Executive Architect has seen us finalists of the AJ Executive Architect of the Year in 2017. This reflected our strong and ever growing expertise delivering projects for clients such as Berkeley Group, St James, St Edwards, Telford Homes, Linden Homes, Mount Anvil and Ardmore, delivering planning approvals by architects such as, Allies and Morrison, Maccreanor Lavington, Patel Taylor, Jestico + Whiles, Squire + Partners and Rolfe Judd.

Ensuring the primary concept design is retained is critical to our role as Executive Architect and collaboration is a key thread running throughout all of our work. Performing our executive architect role at Stratford Plaza for example, a 26-storey mixed-use tower in Stratford originally designed by Allies and Morrison. We devised a construction method that ensured the spiral façade concept was delivered though repetitive pre-fabricated facade elements across the curved facade, while utilising BIM to optimise the design in terms of floorplan and facade efficiency. Similarly, acting as Executive Architect for Berkeley Homes at Woodberry Down saw us collaborate with Rolfe Judd, the planning architects, to ensure their concept was maintained and optimised in the unitised facade, also with The Manser Practice, to coordinate the interior design input. At Porters Edge in Canada Water, we collaborated closely with the contractor, Ardmore, and their team to ensure exceptional build quality within the original Maccreanor Lavington design vision.

Within the education sector, on-time completion is essential to ensure that all school places are ready for a particular academic year; our role as Executive Architect at Holy Trinity School in Hackney saw us achieve that, while collaborating closely with the school through numerous workshops. Additionally, with St Edwards at Kensington Primary Academy, we achieved this through enhancing the initial design by Squire + Partners by adopting a pre-fabricated cross-laminated timber superstructure, providing excellent acoustic and thermal performance together with fast construction; this enabled the contractor to meet a contracted programme resulting from the removal of live site utilities.
